Description: UN SDG indicator 16.7.1(a) aims to compare the proportion of various demographic groups (by sex and age) represented in national parliaments, relative to the proportion of these same groups in the national population above the age of eligibility. This dataset presents the ratio of MPs aged 45 and below, calculated as: Proportion of MPs aged 45 and below / Proportion of the national population aged 45 and below (with the minimum age of eligibility as a lower boundary). See the metadata for SDG indicator 16.7.1(a) for details of the ratio. Two datasets are available, one for unicameral parliaments and lower chambers of bicameral parliaments, one for upper chambers of parliaments.
