Note on the Distribution of seats according to sex
Ten women were elected in 2021. As at 19 April 2021, 19 out of a total of 100 senators were women.
Other notes
In accordance with the 2018 constitutional amendments, which merged the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, the statutory number of seats in the Senate has decreased from 104 to 100, of which 48 were renewed in March 2021. 

The statutory number will be further reduced from 100 to 96 after the half renewal of the Senate expected in March 2024. Thereafter, the FATA, which had been allocated eight Senate seats since 1985 (and four seats as of March 2021), will no longer have representation in the Senate.
