Reserved seats and quotas

Electoral quota for women Quotas to promote the representation of women in parliament.
Notes
An amendment to the Constitution establishes a 30% quota for women in all elected and appointed positions at the national level, particularly in the civil service. The amended Constitution also provides for the development of legislation to apply this quota to the political parties. Such legislation is under development but has not established an electoral formula to this effect.
