• Consider any report submitted to Parliament by the Minister responsible for women’s affairs and any other Minister, and to advise on the measures to be undertaken by Government to improve the position and status of women within the purview of laws, rules, regulations, policies and programmes
• Promote the adequate representation of women in all elective bodies, and decision making positions
• Examine measures taken by Government and other agencies to educate the public on all laws, policies and programmes affecting women
• Examine measures adopted by Government in relation to the development of women and their empowerment
• Examine the impact of welfare programmes on women
• Examine the impact of laws on women, and promote the eradication of provisions which inhibit or adversely affect them.
