The salary paid to members depends on years of service with salary rising after 4 years and 12 years, respectiviely. In 2023, members of Parliament were paid a salary of 7,137 euros a month (85,644 per annum), with the figure rising to 7,494 after 4 years of service (89,928 per annum) and to 7,993 euros (95,916 per annum) after 12 years of service. In 2020, the basic salary was 6,614 euros a month (79,368 per annum), with the figure rising to 6,945 after 4 years of service (83,340 per annum) and to 7,408 euros (88,896 per annum) after 12 years of service.
