Salaries of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, unlike salary of other MPs, are laid down in the Act on the remuneration of persons holding high-ranking state positions (Ustawa o wynagrodzeniu osób zajmujących kierownicze stanowiska państwowe). Their salaries are partly determined in reference to the number of years served as an MP. The given amounts are what they are paid automatically, however they are also entitled to a length-of-service increment, starting from 5% of salary after 5 years served as an MP.
