Legislation adopted by parliament requires the assent of the Head of State

In some countries, the Constitution foresees that legislation adopted by parliament must be signed into law by the Head of State. If so, the Head of State may, for example, have the power to veto the legislation, return it to parliament, or submit it to another body such as a constitutional court.

Notes: According to the Constitution, art. 110: The President has 56 days to sign a law but can raise objections to it within that term, in which case, it is returned to the Milli Majlis without signature and with the objections. Constitutional laws cannot enter into force until signed by the President. But if the Milli Majlis adopts for a second time a law by a majority of 95 votes, which was previously adopted by a majority of 83 votes, and a law by a majority of 83 votes, which was previously adopted by a majority of 63 votes, then said laws enter into force after the second vote.
